The National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit, Clinical Trials Unit (NPEU CTU) is seeking an enthusiastic Trial Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will provide project management for randomized controlled trials within the NPEU CTU portfolio.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team and contribute to the broader development work of the Clinical Trials Unit. The postholder will be based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH), which hosts world-renowned research groups and fosters interdisciplinary research and teaching.
The NPEU is an internationally recognized research unit focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborns. As Trial Manager, you will serve as the central administrative contact at the Coordinating Centre, maintaining systems to ensure trials meet milestones. You will coordinate the design, implementation, and operation of clinical trials across UK hospital sites, ensuring timely data collection, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance, and adherence to NPEU CTU Standard Operating Procedures.
Applicants should have a degree in a biomedical or related field, relevant qualifications, or proven experience in clinical research. Line management experience, understanding of clinical research methodology, GCP, UK regulations for clinical trials, GDPR, and research governance are essential. Strong administrative, data management, project management, and organizational skills are required, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
This position offers some hybrid working options in line with department guidance. It is a full-time role (part-time up to 80% FTE considered) and is fixed-term until 31 October 2026.
