THE ROLE
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Junior Project Manager will lead and support in the delivery of projects to customers, providing clear direction and support to project stakeholders throughout the Project Lifecycle.
The Junior PM will be representing Comtech for their given projects and will be required to foster and maintain trust with all Customers via an open, honest and transparent approach to Customer engagement and reporting.
They will be required to work cross functionally, ensuring engagement with peer groups, functions, stakeholders and the overall wider Comtech business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (core responsibilities, activities)
1. Accountable for the on time, to cost and quality delivery of their given project(s) activities across Comtech UK.
2. Implement best practice Program Management policies, processes and procedures to support the improvement of Comtech UK business performance.
3. Define the Product Breakdown Structure, Work Breakdown Structure and Work Packages for their projects, translating these into time-phased project schedules complete with agreed labour and materials estimates.
4. Identify project risks and opportunities, including mitigation actions and mitigation action costs, impact assessments on schedule, labour and/or material costs where risks impact or opportunities can be realised.
5. Monitor the completion of schedule activities on a daily basis, ensuring adherence to their project schedules.
6. Cultivate and maintain trustworthy relationships with Comtech employees and Comtech customers.
7. Work collaboratively with their Peer Group to ensure alignment amongst the PM team, leading to clear and consistent communication to their project resources.
8. Continually review resource availability to highlight potential shortfalls and pinch-points to support timely decision-making and prioritisation.
9. Mandatory attendance at weekly PM and monthly project reviews.
10. Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to management, drawing upon the support of other Functional areas, as applicable.
11. Attend meetings, support action completion, clearly communicate instructions and direction to their project teams.
12. Consistently promote high standards in everything they do.

14. Ensure awareness of business priorities.
15. Ensure regular and timely communication between project team members.
16. Share ideas to improve operational effectiveness, introduce efficiencies, identify opportunities, support and implement continuous improvement activities to optimise corporate results and support achievements of targets.
17. Manage the interfaces between their customers and project teams.
18. Support the Sales team with new project cost build-up, schedules, risk, opportunities and time estimates, drawing upon lessons learnt from previous projects.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
19. A recognised Project Management qualification – APM, PRINCE2, Agile or similar
20. Experience in the successful delivery of technical projects.
21. Experience of Stakeholder Management.
22. Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Engineering or other related sectors
23. Experience in chairing internal and external meetings, including client and stakeholder meetings.
24. Effective time management and project planning skills
25. Experience and ability to prepare detailed project plans using MS Project.
26. Experience of implementing, managing and operating multiple technical projects.
27. Ability to set up, monitor and control project cost budgets.
28. Be familiar with and actively participate in change control procedures and boards.
29. A working knowledge of risk management in project delivery.
30. Experience in delivering projects in a Manufacturing (Production) environment.
31. Demonstrable experience in managing projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
