The Role
Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director, this is a high-profile role with full responsibility for managing and growing a major UK retail account. You’ll be given real autonomy from day one, with the opportunity to build and shape deep, trusted relationships across your customer’s commercial, technical, supply chain and NPD teams.
Alongside day-to-day account management, you’ll play a key role in identifying and converting new business opportunities, introducing new lines, negotiating contracts, and working with the internal teams to ensure every opportunity is fully maximised. You’ll work closely with Procurement to monitor sourcing activity and spot buying opportunities, and with Supply Chain to proactively manage stock levels and service.
Using both internal data and IRI insights, you’ll collaborate with the Category and Marketing teams to deliver outstanding customer presentations and category recommendations. You’ll also be responsible for managing your account’s commercial performance, reporting on sales, forecasting accurately, and ensuring contract balances are well maintained.
This is a hands-on, commercially broad role offering the chance to make a real impact while working alongside a highly experienced and supportive senior leadership team.
We’re looking for a confident, tenacious, and relationship-led account manager with a proven track record of managing UK retail accounts, ideally within the food industry with a preference for Own Label experience. You’ll bring a strong commercial mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
You may already be working as a National Account Manager or looking for your next step up from a Junior NAM or Account Executive role.
You’ll need to be well organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling the fast-paced demands of multiple stakeholders.
