Group Accountant
Belfast BT8 Full time office based

We are pleased to be working exclusively with a very long standing commercial client who are actively looking to expand their finance team. This is a key role in the business working closely with the Group FC who in turn reports up to a NI based group. The business has 5 entities currently
Key requirements and responsibilities include
1. Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience
2. Commercially minded Accountant who wants to see beyond the numbers and add value
3. You will bridge the gap between day-to-day transactional accounting and high-level strategic reporting at group level.
4. Financial Reporting: Lead the end-to end-month-end close process including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts together with insightful variance analysis.
6. Cost Management: Ability to prepare detailed analysis of COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), inventory & operating expenses.
7. Monitor daily cash flow and assist the Financial Controller with weekly and rolling budgets & forecasts.
8. Assist with year-end and audit processes.
The ideal person
9. Strong commercial/industry experience
10. Experience in a management accounting or finance analyst role within an industrial setting
11. Solid understanding of UK Tax and HMRC requirements for Payroll etc.
12. Strong Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs) and experience with ERP systems – current system is Sage 50 and Power BI – although this could change up to group IT system.
13. Strong communication ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
14. A high degree of precision to ensure accuracy in reporting.
15. Encourages ways to improve processes rather than waiting for instruction.
16. Able to plan and to manage multiple tasks with clarity and accuracy.
