We are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join a dedicated and supportive team within a residential special school environment. This Caretaker role is key to ensuring the site remains safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for pupils, students, staff, and visitors.
As a Caretaker, you will support the Site Manager and play a vital role in the day-to-day upkeep of the premises.
About the Role - Caretaker
The successful Caretaker will be responsible for a wide range of duties including:
General building maintenance and minor repairs
Grounds maintenance and upkeep of outdoor areas
Supporting health & safety compliance across the site
Ensuring the premises are clean, safe, and in good working order
Responding to maintenance issues promptly and effectively
Working in line with policies, procedures, legislation, and best practice
Supporting the smooth running of a busy residential school environmentThis Caretaker position is dynamic and hands-on, ideal for someone with strong practical skills and a proactive approach.
About You - Caretaker
To be successful as a Caretaker, you will:
Have experience in caretaking, maintenance, or a similar practical role
Possess a broad range of building and grounds maintenance skills
Have a good understanding of health and safety requirements
Hold a valid full UK driving licence
Be flexible to work various daytime shift patterns
Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team
