About Us
Newham Talking Therapies (NTT) is a large, dynamic primary care (IAPT) talking therapies service with a history of innovative practice. We offer opportunities for therapy development, supervision and training within a supportive and diverse borough. NTT provides supervision and in-house CPD events and supports professional progression in clinical and managerial roles.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of telephone/video clients and a smaller caseload of face-to-face clients.
* Work predominantly via video/telephone with some face-to-face sessions; current arrangements involve clinics one day per week with the rest remote, subject to review based on clinical demand.
* Be part of a dynamic team and collaborate with colleagues trained in EMDR, IPT, DIT, guided self-help, CfD, BCT, and other modalities.
* Deliver Step 2 and Step 3 NICE-recommended interventions and contribute to service development and supervision for professional growth.
* Support a non-clinical working environment that prioritises well-being and work-life balance.
Who We're Looking For
* Qualified and accredited Psychotherapists or Clinical/Counselling Psychologists registered with HCPC (or UKCP/BACP for clinical membership) with training in at least one NICE high‑intensity therapy (e.g., Couples Therapy for Depression, Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression, DIT, IPT).
* Experience or interest in group therapy formats and in working within an IAPT primary care setting.
* Competent in carrying out risk assessments and maintaining robust risk management in line with professional standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and participate in supervision and CPD activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
* HCPC registered psychologist or equivalent (Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology) or accredited psychological therapist (BABCP/HCPC/UKPC).
* Experience delivering psychological therapy in Primary Care/IAPT settings and ability to meet service targets.
* Full range of skills and competencies as per the competence framework; computer literate; strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to establish therapeutic relationships and manage clinical risk within scope of practice.
