Head Chef - The Cavendish Hotel, Baslow We have an exciting development opportunity at The Cavendish Hotel, Baslow for an experienced Head Chef looking to lead, develop and grow within a supportive and ambitious hospitality group. You will work a 4-day week, leading a busy 3AA Rosette kitchen within a 4 AA Red Star hotel, producing food to a consistently high standard while developing both the brigade and the offer. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive discretionary service charge and tips, which can increase your monthly earnings to around £2,500 on average. As Head Chef, you will have full responsibility for the kitchen operation, working closely with senior management while retaining real autonomy and creativity. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the pass, developing people and driving standards. Key responsibilities include: Overall management of the kitchen and brigade Menu development and seasonal menu planning Maintaining and improving 3AA Rosette standards Food preparation and service at the highest level Stock control, ordering and GP management Health & safety and food hygiene compliance Training, mentoring and developing the kitchen team The Cavendish Hotel is a 4 AA Red Star property, situated on the Chatsworth Estate, with excellent road links to Chesterfield, Matlock and the surrounding areas. You’ll be professional, organised and passionate about food, people and standards, with the ability to lead from the front and inspire your team. Formal qualifications such as an apprenticeship or NVQ in Professional Cookery are advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
