Responsibilities
* Identify and provide solutions to minimize and mitigate risk within contractual activities for Baker Hughes’ Gas Tech Equipment (GTE), with emphasis on the Brush business.
* Drive contract review, redlining of terms and conditions, and negotiation in the commercial (ITO) phase to minimize commercial, execution, legal and financial risks.
* Focus on commercial risk mitigation, coordinate input/review with functional experts (legal, compliance, quality, finance, tax and insurance).
* Draft specific agreements as needed (e.g., NDAs, MOUs, contract amendments).
* Provide guidance to commercial teams on contract drafting during negotiation with customers, subcontractors and consortium partners to align with GTE risk profile and project objectives.
* Be fully conversant in terms and conditions from indemnities and limitations of liability to boiler plate clauses.
* Review, draft and negotiate terms of international and domestic sales agreements for equipment, services and parts, including related contract documentation.
* Support negotiations with customers in person or by phone/telepresence.
* Work with GTE subject matter experts across Risk, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance and Operations; ensure commercial risks are identified and managed across the project scope; develop risk mitigation plans.
* Collaborate with global Risk Operations and Governance initiatives.
* Analyze tender processes with Commercial Operations and Legal teams to assess contract specifications and structure (consortium, prime/subcontractor, etc.).
* Simplify the ITO process through collaboration with Legal and Finance and with Commercial Senior Leadership.
* Contribute to process enhancements and commercial training; adhere to GTE risk procedures and participate in risk reviews.
* Coordinate with Execution (OTR) Risk team during hand-off and lessons learned sessions.
* Lead with integrity and uphold the GTE compliance policy, Our Way, in every transaction.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Experience in oil & gas, energy industry and/or industrial sectors; extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts.
* Background in law/risk; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with initiative and flexibility.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines while multitasking; capable of working independently and taking initiative.
* Strong attention to detail; fluent in English (additional languages a plus).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; willingness to travel as required.
