Overview Of Role
We are on the lookout for a Trainee Miller to join our friendly team at Jordan’s Dorset Ryvita. As part of the ABF group, we have ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years and we need someone with the drive and passion to help us get there.
The core focus for this role is to work as part of a small team which ensures the production of flour to support the 3 bakeries. The day-to-day duties will vary from production to maintenance to hygiene. No two days are the same.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop and train as a Miller and support the Mill and wider teams.
The shift pattern for this role is a 2 week rotating shift pattern, worked as follows:
Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 14:00, and Friday, 06:00 to 13:00
Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 14:00 to 22:00, and Friday 13:00 to 20:00
Key Accountabilities
Our Mill Supervisor is looking for a team member to...
* Proactively maintain flour and meal quality whilst using agreed grist’s to an optimum extraction rate and plant capacity
* All aspects of the preparation and processing of Rye and Wheat products for internal and external customers
* Operate to an agreed effective system of planned maintenance
* Conducting daily and weekly stock control tasks and maintain accurate records for traceability in accordance with business requirements
* Operate to an agreed system of Good Milling Practice
* Maintain the production areas in a clean, hygienic and good state of repair
* Promptly feedback maintenance defects to the relevant department when they occur
* Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times
* Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards e.g. BRC, IFS, Femas
* To carry out production testing to an agreed minimum quality testing plan, and ensure that it is reported/recorded accurately
* To record key quality and production criteria in accordance with agreed procedures and to assist in their continual improvement
