ContractSupervisor – Grounds Maintenance - Yeovil
Salary: up to £32,000 + company vehicle
Glendale is a market leader in grounds maintenance, arboriculture, and landscaping. We are seeking an ambitious and capable ContractSupervisor to support and oversee grounds maintenance operations across a portfolio of contracts in Somerset and Dorset. This role offers the opportunity to join our management team and play a key part in the day-to-day management and performance of our contracts.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands‑on ContractSupervisor to support the delivery of multiple grounds maintenance contracts across Somerset and Dorset. You will work closely with the Contract Manager to:
- oversee day-to-day operations
- lead and motivate site-based teams
- maintain strong client relationships
- ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
This role requires a strong on‑site presence, practical problem‑solving, and the confidence to manage people, performance, and client expectations in a fast‑paced operational environment. You will play a key role in monitoring productivity, supporting winter and summer programmes, identifying opportunities for additional works, and driving continuous improvement across the contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support grounds maintenance teams across multiple sites
- Monitor schedules, performance, quality, and compliance
- Assist with recruitment, training, and development of operatives
- Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality, and customer care
- Support delivery against contractual KPIs and productivity targets
- Liaise professionally with clients and respond to site queries
- Support reporting, inspections, and performance reviews
- Promote continuous improvement and best practice
The Person
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced contract supervisor, team leader, or has similar experience
- Well organised, reliable, and confident managing people
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and contracts
- Practical, proactive, and solutions‑focused
- A strong communicator with both operatives and clients
- Keen to develop their career within contract management
Previous experience in a regulated or client‑facing environment is desirable. A horticultural qualification and good IT skills would be advantageous but are not essential. Most importantly, you’ll be motivated, dependable, and keen to develop within a management role.
