About The Role
EKFB, a joint venture of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, and BAM Nuttall, has been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking a Freelance Land Surveyor for our Chipping Warden site in Northamptonshire on a short‑term basis.
The successful candidate will support the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network and will report and validate different construction stages. Responsibilities include undertaking land, topographic, hydrographic, and measured building surveys using specialist equipment such as robotics, 3D scanners, GNSS, drones, and laser scanners; managing registration and post‑processing of point‑cloud data; performing precise traversing and levelling; analysing data with plans, maps, charts, and software such as AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center and GIS; preparing survey drawings; presenting data to clients; and writing reports.
You will coordinate with Site Engineers to prioritise projects regarding implementation, plan changes or deviations, unusual activities, and non‑conformance rectification work, and you will liaise with consultants for inspection and approval.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* HND or degree in Land Survey, Geomatics, or equivalent.
* Experience in a similar role with similar values.
* Experience preparing survey‑related Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels and GNSS receivers.
* Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
* Good written and verbal communication and solid report writing and compilation skills.
* Proficiency in using survey software such as Trimble Business Center.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Valid CSCS card.
Pre‑Employment Checks
EKFB will undertake relevant employment checks, including references, ID, driving licence (if appropriate), right to work in the UK, and any additional checks required by the role. BPSS security clearance will be required and will be completed as part of the onboarding process.
