Our client a leading EPC and a specialist fabrication and engineering provider known for delivering durable, precision‑built solutions across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects is looking for a Civil Supervisor for a project in Torness.
Key Responsibilities of the Civil Supervisor are
* Supervise and manage all civil construction activities associated with the onshore substation, including:
o Site preparation and earthworks
o Foundations and concrete structures
o Buildings and associated infrastructure
o Access roads, drainage, and utilities
* Plan and coordinate daily construction activities in line with the project programme and engineering requirements.
* Ensure all works are carried out in full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives, ensuring effective communication and performance on site.
* Monitor progress against schedule, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions where required.
* Review and implement approved construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
* Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet project and contractual requirements.
* Support cost control by monitoring labour, materials, plant usage, and variations.
* Liaise with the project management team, engineers, client representatives, and external stakeholders as required.
* Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily site reports, progress updates, and records of change.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant Civil Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
* Proven experience in a Civil Supervisor or similar role on large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects
* Previous experience on EPC, energy, substation, or heavy civil projects is desirable
* SMSTS certification – essential
* CSCS card – essential
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a site‑based environment and manage multiple work fronts
