Job Title: Specialty Doctors in Stroke Medicine
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust are seeking to recruit Specialty Doctors in Stroke Medicine to join our team. These full-time substantive posts offer 11 programmed activities, including on-call duties. Our Stroke team is committed to developing and improving services through innovation. We are looking for individuals passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and interested in shaping future services. We provide training and development opportunities and support our Specialty Doctors to deliver excellent care.
The post holder will contribute to a service that is both Consultant-led and delivered, with responsibilities including:
1. Undertaking daily ward rounds of the allocated bed base.
2. Reviewing all new medical admissions during on-call duties within the operational standards of the service and managing patient care until discharge or transfer.
3. Assessing all new admissions to HASU and Stroke wards.
4. Supporting the team to deliver effective, safe, and timely care aligned with ward standards.
5. Ensuring appropriate handover of care at shift changes.
6. Liaising with specialty clinicians for early patient involvement.
7. Developing links with the community to facilitate seamless patient transfer.
8. Completing all documentation related to admissions, transfers, discharges, or deaths promptly and accurately.
9. Supervising hospital clinical handovers at 09:00 am on weekdays, extending to 7 days when the service expands.
10. Working in line with the Trust's 'Criteria to Reside' principles.
11. Contributing to Thrombolysis and Ward Cover on-call rota.
