Employment Solicitor/Lawyer for blended in-house/Law firm, Remote working, £60k - £80k DOE, Kent
My client is a progressive and unique People services business who offer HR, Corporate and Legal services to over 1500 clients. They are a successful and rapidly expanding business, who are part of a larger group, and are always looking for better ways to achieve success for their clients, and the firm. They are looking to expand their already successful Employment team with an experienced employment lawyer. The firm adopts a non-traditional approach by blending in-house expertise with legal services, fostering a strong working culture.
The role:
You will be responsible for advising clients on all aspects of employment law including routine employment-related guidance and representation in Employment Tribunal cases and other contentious employment matters. You will manage multiple files and clients, often leading on matters including:
* Employment Tribunal litigation, including preparing and responding to claims, drafting witness statements, and conducting advocacy (at least at the preliminary hearing stage)
* Offering day-to-day employment and HR advice to managers, HR teams, and senior executives/board members.
* Drafting employment contracts, policies, and related documents
* Providing guidance on disciplinary issues, grievance procedures, and leading investigations
* Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements
* Corporate support from an employment aspect
* GDPR advise for employers
* Advising senior executives and individuals
* Support the expansion of the team and development of the Employment and HR practice.
* Provide support/guidance to junior members in the team
* Provide training to clients
Who you are:
* Min of 4 + years PQE /OR equivalent experience of employment law
* Employment Tribunal experience
* Experience of advocacy at preliminary hearing stage
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent relationship building skills
* Technically competent
* Team player
* Capable of conveying complex information clearly
* Business focused with a consultative approach
* Strong sense of accountability
* Integrity and trustworthiness
