Role Summary
To manage and optimize all internal logistics processes related to goods in, storage and on site movement of inbound raw materials to Shotton Mill production. This includes overseeing inbound vehicle unloading, inbound warehousing operations, inventory accuracy, mobile plant and material flow to support continuous production in a cost-efficient, safe and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety First – This role is responsible for managing internal logistics operations with a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance, ensuring minimal risk to all stakeholders. Leads by example in adhering to site safety rules and promotes a proactive safety culture where near misses and other HSE incidents are reported and addressed through timely corrective actions.
* Inbound Goods – Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by implementing procedures that segregate pedestrians and delivery drivers from mobile plant activity. Manages resources effectively to achieve required volume targets and ensure the safe, efficient unloading of vehicles. Oversees the timely and accurate receipt and movement of inbound materials, maintaining high standards of accuracy and operational control.
* Inbound Warehousing - Ensures optimal use of the warehouse facility, with a focus on presentation, housekeeping and damage reduction. Maintains accurate inventory through robust warehouse management systems and oversees inventory control processes, including cycle counts and audits. Works closely with IT to drive continuous improvements in system performance and data accuracy.
* Outbound Goods - Ensure the timely and accurate delivery and movement of outbound materials to support the production process. Effectively manages resources to achieve required volume targets and maintain high accuracy in material deliveries, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
* Mobile Plant Responsibility - Responsible for the management and safe operation of mobile plant within the area of responsibility. Ensures all equipment is operated by trained, certified and competent personnel, with daily pre-shift checks completed and defects promptly reported. Coordinates with maintenance providers to address faults and maintain accurate service records. Actively monitors equipment condition, addressing damage with the team to uphold high operational standards throughout the equipment’s lifecycle.
* Leadership - Leads by example to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and strong employee engagement within the Internal Logistics team. Promotes and embeds the company’s values of Efficiency, Pride, Understanding, and Ambition. Provides effective leadership and development through structured performance management practices, including appraisals, training and improvement plans. Ensures regular team briefings are conducted to support clear communication, alignment and team engagement.
* Key Performance Indicators – Responsible for the logistics KPIs within your area of responsibility which are essential for optimizing, measuring and tracking performance in critical areas such as operational, efficiency, reducing costs and taking proactive steps.
* Other - Manages the area of responsibility in accordance with approved standard operating instructions within the ISO9001 Quality Management System, with a focus on operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and optimal use of facilities and resources. Maintains strong working relationships with suppliers, hauliers, production, and the wider logistics team. Accountable for meeting or exceeding performance objectives set through the appraisal process and for adhering to all Eren / Shotton Mill policies and procedures. May be required to undertake other reasonable duties as needed.
Requirements:
* Diploma of Higher Education (Bachelor’s Degree desirable but not essential)
* Minimum 5 years’ experience within a Logistics or Operational Management Role.
* ISOH / NEBOSH.
* Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. (desirable but not essential)
* Ability to work with Windows and Microsoft Office software applications.
* Effective use of Intranet and Email system.
* Strong Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
* Good Appreciation of Transportation Management Systems
* Turkish (desirable but not essential).
* Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
* Implementation of systems and processes
* Ability to maintain accuracy and volume demands
* Ability to encourage and inspire others to achieve common goals
* Ability to work under pressure and constantly achieve goals
Working Conditions:
The role will initially be working within a project environment as we construct, commission and start-up the facility. The role is fully site based, some travel may be required domestically and Internationally but this will be minimal. May require occasional evening or weekend working to support peak operation and projects.
