Description Are you interested in a role which drives forward risk management, supporting colleagues and teams to adequately and consistently report risk? The Scottish Public Pensions Agency administers pensions for Scottish Teachers, Police, Firefighters’ and National Health Service employees on behalf of the Scottish Government. You will be part of the risk management team in SPPA, who are responsible for the governance of risk activities within the agency. Additionally, the team is responsible for the governance of internal audit activities, control assurance and counter-fraud. You will provide advice and support to senior management on all aspects of risk management processes and practices. You will support continuous improvement in SPPA Risk function as they mature risk management practices, counter-fraud and control assurance. You will report to the Senior Risk Lead. Responsibilities Play an active part in a risk team which is integrating risk management throughout agency, ensuring the Risk Framework is consistently applied and followed. Promotes a proactive approach to risk management at each level across the agency, including with the SPPA Executive Team, their senior leadership teams and the Risk Champions Network, advocating and educating best practice. Produce regular assurance checks on agency risk registers, analysing results to identify improvement areas and provide constructive feedback to risk champions, team leaders and senior leadership team. Evaluate trends in SPPA risk management information to support the management of risk within the organisation and draw out key impacts to senior management attention with recommended action. Support wider risk team in the development of counter-fraud and control assurance policies and working practices. Engage across the Scottish Government and wider public sector to evaluate good practice in risk, counter-fraud and control assurance areas. Regularly engage with internal audit to support agency’s annual audit plans, updating recommendation trackers and engaging with SPPA colleagues to progress recommendations. Supporting senior colleagues with the management of incidents in line with SPPA Incident Management policies.
