The Food Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance within the palace’s kitchens and food service areas. This includes overseeing the implementation of food safety management systems, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring all food prepared and served within the palace meets strict safety and quality standards. The role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail, supporting a prestigious and sensitive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

* Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field.
* Recognized certification in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent).
* Valid Food Safety and Hygiene Certification.
* Additional training or certification in allergen control and sanitation practices are preferred.
* A valid driver’s license (if travel between palace facilities is required).
* Minimum of 3–5 years in a food safety or quality assurance role, ideally within high-end hospitality, luxury establishments, or institutional catering.
* Prior experience working in a high-security, confidential, or VIP environment is an asset.
* Demonstrated experience in food safety audits, staff training, and compliance monitoring.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

* Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
* Ensure all food handling, storage, preparation, and service meet established safety protocols.
* Perform regular hygiene and safety inspections of kitchens, pantries, storage areas, and service zones within the palace.
* Identify potential risks or non-compliance and recommend corrective actions promptly.
* Design, implement, and continually update the food safety management system appropriate to the palace environment.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including logs, audit reports, and incident records.
* Train kitchen and service staff on food hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, allergen management, and personal hygiene practices.
* Conduct refresher courses and emergency response training as required.
* Oversee food handling at all stages — from receiving and storage to preparation and serving — to ensure safety and quality.
* Monitor critical control points and verify proper temperature control and sanitation practices.
* Ensure accurate labelling and handling of food allergens and special dietary requirements.
* Coordinate with chefs and service staff to prevent cross-contamination.
* Respond to any food safety incidents or complaints; conduct thorough investigations and implement preventive measures.
* Liaise with health authorities if necessary, ensuring transparency and regulatory cooperation.
* Maintain the utmost confidentiality and professionalism in a highly secure and private environment.
* Respect cultural, dietary, and protocol-specific requirements of palace residents and guests.
* Work closely with chefs, service managers, procurement officers, and housekeeping staff to ensure integrated food safety practices.
* Participate in planning for official functions, events, and banquets with respect to food safety.
* Keep current with changes in legislation, technology, and best practices in food safety and hygiene.
* Recommend innovations or improvements to existing safety protocols.
