Hybrid Working (ideally 3 days per week onsite – can be some flex on this)
Job Role:
To design and detail efficient landing gear systems for civil and military aircraft to meet demanding customer requirements.
To support the design and manufacturing of the landing gear systems across the whole life-cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support all aspects of concept to detail design throughout the life cycle of our landing gear programmes
* Support all aspects of product configuration
* Use of up-to-date technology including computer based programmes and systems (CAD, 3D Modelling, 2D Draughting, data management systems)
* Designing to meet exacting customer requirements and industry standards
* Technical presentations to customers
* Interfacing with team members, chief engineers, programme management, manufacturing and colleagues at other sites
* Working closely with manufacturing to reduce non-conformances on products
* Liaise with other sites to assist with the offload of packages of work
* Work towards Design check signatory
* Mentoring/ coaching of junior team members
Key Attributes:
Essential:
* Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
* Detail Design, assembly drawings, DFM
* Mechanical Structures experience (joints / beams / fasteners etc.)
* Good knowledge of design and manufacturing processes, preferably related to the aerospace xsngvjr industry
* Fully conversant with traditional and computerised design and analysis methods
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* General computer literacy (Microsoft office)
* Experience of CAD (CATIA V5 preferred)
* Knowledge of configuration management
Desirable:
* Previous aerospace experience
* Work package ownership experience
* GD&T training
* Good knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
