Teaching Assistant with Forest School Experience – Secondary School – Tameside

Teaching Personnel are supporting a forward-thinking secondary school in Tameside to recruit a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This unique role includes supporting students in the classroom and delivering Forest School activities 2–3 days a week, with an exciting opportunity to progress into the school’s newly developing Pupil Referral Unit (PRU).
Role Overview:
* Provide in-class support to students, helping them access the curriculum and develop positive learning behaviours.
* Deliver Forest School sessions 2–3 days a week, supporting outdoor learning, student wellbeing, and engagement.
* Assist with behaviour management and support students with additional needs.
* Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to support targeted students.
* Help supervise students during break and lunch times.
* Play an active role in the development and transition to the new PRU, with potential opportunities for career progression within this provision.

Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role in education.
* Experience or qualification in Forest School or outdoor learning highly desirable.
* Passionate about supporting vulnerable students and those with additional needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to undertake training relevant to the PRU and Forest School.
* Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
