Salary: PAYE: £13.69 per hour | Umbrella: £17.21 per hour
NRW People is delighted to offer a temporary Business Support Assistant role within Torfaen’s Resources team, based at Wesley Street, Cwmbran. Starting 29 September 2025, this 12-week position provides an exciting opportunity to support the Children & Family Hub, covering a secondment and ensuring seamless administrative services.
Responsibilities
* Provide efficient administrative and business support, managing tasks across the Business Support Hub to ensure service delivery.
* Establish strong working relationships with colleagues, responding to internal and external customer queries with excellent service.
* Process invoices, raise purchase requisitions, and maintain financial records in line with the Council’s Financial Management Guide.
* Update computer systems, analyse data, and compile accurate documents to support team operations.
* Assist the Team Leader in meeting deadlines, coordinate referrals, and participate in service-specific meetings, including minute-taking.
* Handle petty cash, service user mileage claims, and banking of monies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
What We’re Looking For
* A proactive individual with NVQ Level 3 in Administration, Business, or IT (or 6 months equivalent experience).
* Experience working with information databases and strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication, customer care, and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
* Flexibility to occasionally work from different office locations within Torfaen and adapt to varying hours as needed.
* Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Cwmbran, Torfaen.

* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Criminal Convictions Declaration (to be submitted with application).
* Signed Confidentiality Agreement (to be submitted with application).
* 2 years of references/work history.
* Up-to-date CV.
