An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join the nursing team on Same Day emergency Care and Medical day Unit, Glangwili General Hospital.
Same Day Emergency Care Unit and Medical Day Unit work to promote effective patient flow throughout the hospital. Patients are treated on a Same day basis and the ethos is that patients will be discharged home at the end of each day. This means that nurses are expected to advocate nurse led discharge with correct support form the medical team. Patients in SDEC are ambulatory patients who do not require admission into A&E such as chest pain, PE, some sepsis, respiratory illness, deranged U&E etc.
Medical day are arranged procedures and infusions such as cardioversions, ascitic drains, biopsies, biologic treatments, iron infusions etc

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff whilst delivering a high standard of care for our patients, you will be expected to work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team, including the Senior Nursing and Management team to help shape future service developments.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
