Overview
UCLH is recruiting a Specialist Screening Practitioner (SSP) for our nurse‑led Bowel Cancer Screening service. The role is based at UCLH and involves work across North Central London, supporting screening lists at UCLH, Whittington Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide nurse‑led assessment clinics for participants in the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
* Arrange colonoscopies for patients within designated screening colonoscopy sessions and attend those procedures.
* Discuss colonoscopy outcomes, including cancer diagnoses, with patients.
* Coordinate care, work autonomously and respond to the individual needs of participants.
* Enter detailed and accurate data into local and national databases for audit and quality assurance.
* Advocate for patients, ensuring they receive the information required to make informed decisions at all stages of screening.
Qualifications & Experience
* Desirable: experience in Endoscopy or gastrointestinal nursing.
* Strong communication skills and a flexible approach to work.
* Ability to work autonomously and coordinate patient care.
