What you'll be doing Think Customer Keep deliveries running smoothly, working closely with warehouse teams to get orders to customers on time. Lead your team to deliver top-tier service, ensuring we always meet the Customer Promise. Take charge of daily vehicle debriefs, monitor delivery performance, and share customer feedback to drive improvements. Support the Transport Manager with accident investigations, compliance, and fleet efficiency. Aim High Lead by example - coaching, developing, and motivating your team every step of the way. Maintain high vehicle and driver compliance standards, from safety checks to fleet tracking. Keep Health & Safety front and centre, ensuring warehouse and vehicle standards are top-notch. Work closely with stores to manage stock changeovers efficiently. Be Real Recruit and onboard new drivers, giving them a first-class induction. Regularly review team performance, providing feedback and support where needed. Plan ahead to ensure full team cover during peak and busy periods. Support your team’s wellbeing, managing absences and people issues with care and fairness. Is This Role for You? Experience in people management, coaching, and driving high performance. Strong customer service skills - you know how to keep standards high. Knowledge of transport operations and compliance (CPC qualification is a plus or a willingness to work towards it). Health & Safety awareness - IOSH qualification preferred. The role is for you if Desirable to be fully conversant with the Transport Law governing Driving Hours Transport CPC qualified or committed to working towards this qualification (to qualify within agreed period post appointment). IOSH Health & Safety qualification preferable. Excellent customer service skills. Operational management, planning and scheduling skills. Professional conduct at all times. Smart and presentable appearance at all times. Proven experience of people management. Experience of encouraging great performance and managing poor performance as required.
