About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Painter/Decorator with general building experience to join our Estates team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Estates helpdesk team, you will be required to deliver first-class painting, decorating, and general building tasks across a variety of properties on campus. It’s a varied role and represents a great opportunity to join a close-knit team. You will be responsible for undertaking and resolving all maintenance tasks allocated to the Painter & Decorator to a high standard. Tasks include internal and external decoration, plastering, ceiling grid repairs, building fabric repairs, surface treatments, lagging, cladding, minor building works, flooring, etc. This position will primarily be based at our Penryn Campus, with occasional work at Falmouth Campus.
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate with a relevant professional qualification in painting, decorating, or an allied trade, such as a recognised apprenticeship to at least Level 3, or equivalent demonstrable skills and experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, assess and solve problems on-site, and operate effectively as part of a team. We are interested in candidates with:
* Recent and relevant demonstrable experience in estates maintenance
* Significant experience managing a range of painting and decorating tasks, including ordering parts/materials
* Excellent written and oral communication, relationship-building, and networking skills
* A full valid UK driving license
The working hours are mainly Monday to Friday, with some weekend work possible. This is a permanent, full-time role, offering 37.5 hours per week.
