GENERAL INFORMATION The following information is provided to assist staff joining the White Hills Park Trust to understand and appreciate the work, content of the post and the role they are to play in the organisation. Whilst every effort has been made to outline all the duties and responsibilities of the post, a document such as this does not permit every item to be specified in detail. Broad headings have been used which assume all the usual associated routines. PURPOSE OF THE POST The Site Assistant will support the school by providing a quality service to all staff that require general caretaking & letting support ensuring that there is a clean, safe, secure and well-maintained environment which benefits all stake-holders. The Site Assistant should show a commitment to the aims, policies, and ethos of the school and the Trust and strive to maintain these through personal conduct and effective relationships with colleagues and pupils. KEY AREAS: To report any problems with the fabric of the school buildings by advising the Site Manager To undertake any emergency repairs within the individual’s capabilities to maintain the health and safety of all users of the site. To build strong relationships with Lettings & Visitors ensure a high quality service is provided To support the Site Manager by maintaining good site standards, cleanliness & relationship management with Lettings To ensure the security of the building is maintained at all times by checking that all windows and doors are secure, that all at risk items are secure and that alarms are set when the property is vacated. Day to day support for lettings in liaison with the Site Manager and Senior Leadership Team. To support the Site Manager by addressing or referring any cleaning issues. To attend to cleaning of areas & Maintenance issues within the school at the direction of the Site Manager or any other staff member as appropriate including removal of graffiti, chewing gum or any other general spillages, vomit or stains, however made. To carry out porterage duties as requested by the school ensuring that all deliveries are dealt with promptly within 24 hours. To ensure cleaning of school areas is conducted appropriately Report to the Site Manager any issues regarding the maintenance of all school cleaning equipment. To ensure that the external site is maintained and kept clean and tidy and litter free. This will include ensuring all litterbins are emptied, a regular litter pick undertaken, cleaning of drains and gulleys, salting/de-icing of hard surfaced areas and the removal of snow to allow access to the site during winter months. In liaison with the Site Manager maintain the heating of the premises ensuring that temperatures are at suitable levels, repairs are undertaken promptly, and cabinets are cleaned. To undertake simple building improvements within the individuals capabilities, for example painting, simple maintenance/repairs. To ensure that the school premises management/maintenance system is worked form to ensure work load is met To support the undertaking of all necessary statutory fire checks required by law and record these in a suitable record book for review by the Site Officer and Headteacher if required To ensure the compliance to the school of the school is met and any remedial actions are reported through the reporting channels To be a key holder and able to open and lock the building as needed To ensure aid in the lifting, carrying and setting up of furniture on regular basis. The job description may be subject to amendment or modification, should circumstances change, but any changes will be discussed with you in the first instance. In addition to the duties specified you may be asked to undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific cases. To provide flexibility and to meet the priorities of the Trust during times of peak work flow you will be asked to support other members of the Trust team undertaking duties that may be below your current grading. The job description does not form part of the contract of employment.
