The Team:
The Construction Disputes team has seen recent growth due to business demand, with a Spears-ranked head of department who is an industry-leading specialist in development projects as well as building safety and cladding matters, surrounded by a team of highly regarded solicitors who work across a broad mix of construction disputes.
The team advises a longstanding client base of developers, contractors, funders, consultants and other industry professionals. Its expertise spans disputes relating to building contracts, professional appointments, warranties, procurement strategies, guarantees and bonds, with Building Safety Act matters forming a central pillar of the practice.

The Role:
This is an opportunity for a Senior Contentious Construction Associate with 6 - 9 years PQE, to join a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding team with excellent progression pathways to Legal Director and in time, Partnership.
You will work closely with a specialist team across the spectrum of Contentious Construction matters, advising on all forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including negotiation, mediation, conciliation, joint expert determination, and the use of dispute review boards. Allowing parties to resolve issues swiftly and maintain vital business relationships. And where settlement cannot be agreed, you will carry out a range of adjudication, litigation, and arbitration.
The nature of the work running through the team is high quality, with construction disputes and Building Safety matters sitting at the centre, where you’d be advising across the full remediation lifecycle from structuring through to handling downstream liability and developer disputes that follow.
As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with other senior lawyers and Partners on complex matters, contribute to the ongoing development of client relationships and collaborate with other teams within the firm on providing the most robust and strategic advice and services to clients.
There is a genuine focus on continuous development and long-term progression, with a defined route to Legal Director and then Partnership. You will be encouraged to take on significant responsibility, lead matters, play an active role in business development and support the supervision and development of junior lawyers — all within a supportive environment that is invested in your future at the firm.
Requirements
* Contentious Construction solicitor with 6 – 9 years’ PQE (England & Wales)
* Previous experience in Building Safety Act is highly desirable.
* Strong technical expertise across a spectrum of Contentious Construction matters.
* Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload, delegate effectively and stay resilient under pressure.
* A positive, pragmatic approach with good judgment and confident decision-making.
* Team-oriented approach with the flexibility to thrive in the firm’s hybrid working environment.
