Paralegal - Personal Injury (Shipping) Location: Bristol Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 Contract: Full-time, Permanent A top 50 UK law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join its specialist Shipping & International Trade team based in Bristol. The Team This highly regarded team acts on complex, multi-jurisdictional shipping and marine insurance disputes, regularly handling cases under major international arbitration rules and within the English High Court. They advise on matters ranging from cargo claims and charterparty disputes to cruise line operations and marine casualties. The Role You will support senior fee earners on a varied caseload of defendant personal injury claims involving passengers, crew, and shore-based marine workers. The work will include fast track, intermediate and multi-track claims, with opportunities to contribute to live accident investigations and high-profile litigation. Key Responsibilities Assist with a caseload of EL/PL defendant personal injury claims, both litigated and pre-litigated Draft legal documents such as defences, witness statements, and court applications Support accident investigations and be available to travel at short notice where necessary Liaise with clients, insurers, witnesses, and other stakeholders with professionalism Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with CPR and court deadlines Operate within the Claims Portal and manage CRU certificate processes Work alongside senior colleagues on complex, high-value matters About You Experience handling defendant personal injury claims is essential A strong understanding of litigation processes and the CPR CILEX-qualified or experienced paralegal background in personal injury/litigation Willingness to travel across the UK when required Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail This is a rare chance to join a forward-thinking, national firm offering high-quality work, career development, and the chance to specialise in a niche, internationally relevant practice area.
