<div><p><b>Health & Safety Manager</b></p><p><b>Telecomms / Utilities experience essential</b></p><p><b>Location:</b> Brentwood (with ad-hoc regional travel)</p><p><b>Hybrid Working Available</b></p><p><b>Salary:</b>£55,000 – £70,000 DOE</p><p>Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and enhance Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) practices across a growing operational business. This is a key leadership position responsible for embedding a positive safety culture, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across multiple sites within the region.</p><p>This role will suit a proactive and solutions-focused H&S professional who is confident working across operational teams, engaging with stakeholders, and influencing at all levels of the organisation.</p><h3>Safety Leadership & Culture</h3><ul><li>Champion a strong, values-led safety culture across the business.</li><li>Promote awareness through toolbox talks, training sessions and ongoing engagement initiatives.</li><li>Lead by example, reinforcing high standards of safe working practices and procedural compliance.</li></ul><h3>Compliance & Management Systems</h3><ul><li>Develop, review and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).</li><li>Ensure full compliance with relevant UK legislation and industry best practice.</li><li>Support and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.</li><li>Proactively identify hazards and implement control measures to mitigate operational risk and reduce external liabilities.</li></ul><h3>Training & Capability Development</h3><ul><li>Identify training needs to maintain workforce competence and compliance.</li><li>Deliver and coordinate H&S training across operational and management teams.</li><li>Provide guidance and support in the preparation and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work.</li></ul><h3>Team & Contractor Oversight</h3><ul><li>Provide leadership and direction to the internal H&S function, including site auditors.</li><li>Oversee contractor and supply chain onboarding, ensuring adherence to required safety standards.</li><li>Act as a key point of contact for client representatives in relation to H&S matters.</li></ul><h3>Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement</h3><ul><li>Conduct and oversee routine site inspections and audits.</li><li>Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.</li><li>Produce regular performance reports, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.</li><li>Support senior leadership with the development of project-specific HSEQ documentation and management plans.</li></ul><h3>Candidate Profile</h3><ul><li>NEBOSH or equivalent qualification as a minimum.</li><li>Demonstrable experience in a similar senior H&S role within telecoms or utilities environments.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.</li><li>Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.</li><li>Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.</li></ul><h3>What’s on Offer</h3><ul><li>Competitive salary of £55,000 – £70,000 DOE</li><li>Company Van / Car Allowance and fuel card.</li><li>Pension scheme and standard company benefits.</li><li>Increasing annual leave entitlement with service.</li><li>Ongoing professional development and training support.</li><li>A collaborative working environment with a strong team ethos.</li></ul><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Senior Health & Safety professional to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening HSEQ standards within a dynamic and expanding organisation.</p></div>
