Terms:
· Package: £70,000 - £80,000 OTE per annum
· Standard working hours 08:00 – 17:00 Monday - Friday
· Holiday: 30 days including Bank Holidays.

Abbey Group Services consists of three trading entities, Abbey Electrical (Swindon) Ltd, Abbey Fire & Security and Abbey Renewables. All entities are growing and offer significant scope for expansion.
Located in Shrivenham, between Swindon and Oxford, the group is currently purchasing larger premises to support our growth plans. A senior management team exists, including a Managing Director who has been with the company for 5 years. A defined growth plan is in place to expand and develop the group further over the next 3-5 years and beyond.
We provide an extensive range of services to an existing high quality client base; our diversity creates significant opportunities to drive growth in multiple areas simultaneously and utilize cross-selling between the different sectors.

Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on, commercially savvy Operations Director to join our senior leadership team. This is a critical role focused on driving business growth, overseeing all operational aspects, and ensuring company-wide profitability.
As an SME, this opportunity is most suited to someone who’s happy to lead, influence and own key tasks. You will be encouraged to make an impact, lead by example and demonstrate commercial astuteness, extensive industry specific expertise, and as importantly, an unrelenting passion to get stuck in and deliver a positive impact company wide. A demonstrable track record of building and managing teams you will have extensive electrical knowledge and qualifications. A solid understanding of the fire and security industry will be advantageous but is not essential.
You will be a leader who not only understands operational excellence but also contributes to the broader strategic company agenda. You will be expected to challenge existing ways of working, introduce best practices, and bring forward-thinking operational leadership. In return, you will have the platform to influence real change, working closely with the directors to achieve our growth plans .
Operational Strategy & Growth
* Develop & improve operations strategy across the group with a focus on profitability, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
* Ensure Health & Safety compliance.
* Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and contract growth.
* Oversee pricing, tendering, contract negotiation, and margin protection.
* Monitor financial performance and provide commercial insight to fellow Directors / stakeholders .
Leadership & Team Development
* Work closely with other Directors and the leadership team to align commercial goals with operational delivery.
* Support, or where applicable, own recruitment.
* Mentor & lead colleagues, improving capability and awareness.
* Drive company culture and key values.
* Foster a culture of accountability, support, and continuous improvement.
Personal Requirements
You will possess a full suite of electrical qualifications and have spent significant time within the electrical industry. With project management and leadership experience in a senior role, you will be able to demonstrate an extensive track record of creating and maintaining highly profitable and productive teams.
Knowledge of Fire & Security and Renewables would be an advantage but not critical.
This opportunity will suit an established Operational Director who potentially is restricted in a large company and would welcome the freedom to genuinely influence outcomes and results.

Other requirements
* Proven experience in a senior role, within the electrical sector.
* Strong knowledge of contract law and various contracts such as JCT.
* Strong knowledge of procurement and financial reporting.
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on environment.
* Experience managing or supporting operations/contracts delivery.
* Willingness to muck in and take the reins operationally when needed — no task is too big or too small.
* Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills.
* A proactive problem-solver .
* A team player, with sufficient self-awareness to put the company and the bigger picture at the fore front of your decisions and actions.
