Assistant Quantity Surveyor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established Principal Contractor based in Leeds. The business delivers a range of projects across the commercial, retail, and public sectors, and is known for its quality, innovation, and long-standing client relationships.
This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their career, whether recently graduated or with some industry experience, looking to gain hands-on experience and develop professionally within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and valuations
Support the procurement and management of subcontractor packages
Help track project costs, cash flow, and variations
Contribute to contract administration using JCT and NEC forms
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and the wider commercial team
Learn from senior team members and support project delivery
Requirements:
Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Some experience within a construction or contracting environment (placement or post-grad)
Good communication and organisational skills
Eagerness to learn, develop and progress within the commercial function
Understanding of standard contract forms is advantageous (e.g. JCT, NEC)
