Continuous Improvement Engineer (Manufacturing/Logistics)
Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer (Manufacturing) to join their industry-leading defence client in Bolton.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support the company's Assembly Operations by developing, optimizing, and improving internal Stores and Logistics processes to facilitate product delivery to UK and international customers. They will lead waste and defect reduction activities to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Details
* Full-time onsite at Bolton Manufacturing Facility
* Initial 12-month contract
Responsibilities
* Establish, support, and govern Continuous Improvement reviews, ensuring they are effective and sustainable.
* Facilitate and manage CI plans to implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Support root cause analysis for externally supplied detailed products.
* Reduce defective issues in the stores area, including rework and non-conformances, using 8D/A3 methodologies.
* Implement process controls and capability improvements based on store and logistics processes driven by internal and external customers.
* Facilitate practical problem-solving for root cause analysis within manufacturing and logistics facilities.
* Lead improvement activities within manufacturing and logistics facilities.
* Apply technical expertise in Lean tools and change management.
* Manage improvements within the business.
Qualifications
* Technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or equivalent.
* Further education certificate to HNC or BEng in relevant engineering or science field.
Skills
* Strong manufacturing and warehousing background (preferable).
* Knowledge of supply chain goods receiving practices (preferable).
* Understanding of MRP and Just-in-Time principles (preferable).
* Experience in fast-paced production environments.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Ability to build productive relationships across functions.
* Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Proficiency with CI and quality tools.
* Experience leading practical problem-solving with cross-functional teams.
* Data analysis and interpretation skills using structured approaches.
* Project management from initiation to completion.
* Knowledge of Lean tools and Minitab software.
* Understanding of manufacturing, logistics, and engineering processes.
Pay Range
The successful applicant will undergo Security Clearance. British citizenship is required.
