This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in supporting students with additional learning needs while working towards a recognised qualification.
You'll work alongside experienced Learning Support Assistants and teaching staff, helping students to develop confidence, independence, and the skills they need to succeed.
What you'll do:
Support students in class and small group settings, helping them to understand their work and stay engaged in learning
Encourage positive behaviour, attendance, and participation in lessons
Support students with literacy, numeracy, communication, and organisation
Assist teaching staff with adapting activities and materials to meet individual needs
Learn how to use assistive technologies and inclusive learning tools
Keep accurate notes and records under supervision
Work closely with staff across the college to support student progress and wellbeing
What we're looking for:
A genuine interest in supporting young people and learners with additional needs
GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above (or willingness to achieve these during the apprenticeship)
Basic IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office (or willingness to learn)
A positive, caring and patient attitude
Good communication skills and a team-focused mindset
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
?? Training & Development:
You will meet the standards of a L3 Teaching Assistant by gaining valuable experience in a professional educational setting. You'll receive mentoring, supervision, and on-the-job training to help you develop confidence and practical skills.
