The Little Play Lounge is an independent and stylish children's play café based in beautiful West Berkshire. We're a growing, community-focused business offering a warm and welcoming space where families can relax, play, and connect. As we expand our timetable and event offerings, we're excited to welcome a passionate Class & Events Facilitator to our team.
The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to join a creative, supportive environment where you'll lead playful, enriching classes for young children while also helping to plan and deliver a range of fun, family-friendly events. From sensory sessions and Story time to seasonal welly walks and charity clothes swaps, no two days are the same In between classes or events, either help on the reception, serve the customers or jump in the kitchen to make some yummy food – we're looking for a team player
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate classes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers (e.g. sensory play, music & movement, messy play, creative workshops – anything else you can think of)
- Deliver sessions with energy, confidence, and warmth—ensuring every child and caregiver feels welcomed
- Network in the local area to out-source classes as and when necessary
- Set up and pack down class materials and play areas with care and attention to detail
- Assist in the planning and delivery of family-focused events such as: Brunch dates and seasonal celebrations
- Outdoor welly walks and nature-based activities
- Public support classes (e.g. new parent meetups, wellbeing sessions, breast-feeding support)
- Fundraisers and charity events supporting our local community
- Collaborate with the management and team to ensure classes and events are fully planned and prepared
- Support the café in between your schedule
About You:
- Confident, friendly, and naturally great with children and families
- Passionate about early years development and creating magical experiences through play
- Organised and reliable, with a creative mindset and positive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable leading small groups and thinking on your feet
- Experience in childcare, education, early years classes, or event planning is a bonus—but not required if you bring passion and personality
