What the Role Involves
Join Ipsos and take on a role that gets you out and about in your local area. As a Field Market Research Interviewer, you’ll travel across bus routes and stations, speaking with passengers to help improve public transport across the UK.
Each shift is based on a specific route, stop, or station. You’ll be provided with everything you need, including a tablet, survey materials, and ID, to carry out your work confidently.
During your shift, you will:
* Approach passengers and invite them to take part in a short survey
* Ask a set of structured questions and accurately record responses
* Capture feedback on their journey and experience
* Occasionally count passenger numbers (footfall)
Shifts may vary:
* Some involve travelling on a bus for the full route
* Others are based at a bus stop or station (typically around 3 hours)
You’ll be working independently, often in public-facing environments, so confidence and resilience are key.
What to Expect
* Paid per shift (rather than hourly)
* around 2 shifts per week, depending on local demand
* Flexible, part-time work that fits around other commitments
* Free travel on the bus services you are surveying
* Opportunities for additional work and performance-based earnings
This role can involve early starts, varied locations, and approaching people who may not always want to take part, but it’s also a great way to work flexibly and meet a wide range of people.

* Comprehensive, award-winning training

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
