The Role As Lead Shift Engineer, you will oversee both planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance and Operations
: Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across all mechanical and electrical plant per site schedules and asset registers
: Respond promptly to reactive maintenance, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
: Diagnose and rectify plant faults to maintain operational performance
: Complete statutory maintenance in line with SFG20 requirements
: Manage critical spares stock, preparing parts lists and timelines for remedial works
: Issue and control Permits to Work for internal teams and subcontractors
Documentation and Compliance
: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance and breakdown activities
: Keep plant rooms safe, clean, and compliant
: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, SLAs, KPIs, and SHEQ standards
Team and Client Management
: Maintain strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, and client representatives
: Present a professional, customer:focused approach at all times
: Lead, mentor, and support engineering team members
Qualifications and Experience Essential
: Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship
: Proven Facilities Management experience with a strong operational track record
Desirable
: HNC / HND / Foundation Degree
: BOAS / BG01
: City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 (or equivalent)
: IET 17th Edition
: City and Guilds 2391 / 2394 / 2395 (Testing and Inspection) or relevant HVAC qualification
Technical and Professional Skills
: Strong knowledge of building services and statutory compliance
: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAFM systems
: Calm, methodical approach under pressure
: Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting engineering teams
