Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, experienced nursing team. You will be a caring, professional treatment room nurse who thrives on working in a busy environment and enjoys the variety of primary care.
In addition to general treatment room procedures, you will also be our Infection Control lead undertaking regular audits and providing training update to all staff.
The post is for two and a half days a week worked as follows: all day on Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday morning.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to undertake general treatment room duties. As a minimum these will include: childhood and adult immunisations, wound care, dressings, leg ulcer care, suture removal, cervical screening and ECGs.
You will also be our Infection Control lead.

Job responsibilities
Working asa member of the clinical team, in accordance with specific guidance andpractice protocols, the Practice Nurse will ensure the effective provision anddelivery of general nursing services to the patient population.
ThePractice Nurse will also be the Infection Control lead for the Practice,ensuring that all staff are trained as appropriate and regular audits areundertaken as per regulatory guidance.
The postholder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrativesupport as required, in line with the needs of the practice.

Phlebotomy(occasional)
Bloodpressure monitoring
Dressingand wound management and assessment using doppler
Sutureremoval
Smeartaking
Babyimmunisations service
Injections:B12, influenza, covid, pneumococcal vaccines
Travelvaccines (if qualified)
Processingand management of samples as required
Vaccine/coldstorage, monitoring, and recording
Surgicalequipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearingand re-stocking clinical rooms
Chaperoningduties
Assistingin the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing
Helpingto raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted
Assistingwith the collection and collation of data on needs related to health andwellbeing
Undertakingspecific clinical activities for named patients
Maintainaccurate clinical records at all times
Supportthe team in dealing with clinical emergencies
Liaisewith other members of the nursing team to support each other in the provisionof services
Practicelead for Infection Control, undertaking regular audits and providing trainingupdates for all staff
Theremay be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will bedependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
