About Us:
Laker Vent Engineering Ltd is a mechanical contractor operating within the engineering construction industry. We specialise in the installation of highly regulated process piping systems, serving blue chip clients across the Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, and Petrochemical industries.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment on a chemical manufacturing site. This involves maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring proper storage and organisation, and facilitating the timely delivery of items to the project teams.
Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
* Receiving deliveries of materials, tools, and equipment, verifying against delivery notes and consignment documentation
* Inspecting items for damage or defects and reporting discrepancies.
* Ensuring all received goods are correctly recorded in the inventory system.
Storing and Organising Materials:
* Organising and storing materials in a designated storage area, ensuring they are easily accessible and properly maintained.
* Maintaining accurate stock levels and updating inventory management systems.
* Monitoring stock levels and identifying items that need to be reordered.
* Ensuring storage areas are clean, organised, and comply with safety regulations.
Issuing Materials and Tools:
* Issuing materials and tools to site teams according to established procedures.
* Ensuring proper documentation is completed for all material and tool movements.
* Handling returns and damaged goods, ensuring correct paperwork is completed.
Other Responsibilities:
* Liaising with procurement and site management regarding stock requirements.
* Participating in regular stock checks and audits.
* Ensuring the safe storage and handling of hazardous materials.
* Maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
* Supporting site logistics in unloading and distributing deliveries.
* Potentially operating a forklift or other equipment for moving materials.
* May be involved in the maintenance and upkeep of tools.
Requirements:
* Experience with SAP ERP is desirable.
* DBS check will be required before employment commences.
* FLT licence is preferred but not essential.
Rates
* PAYE (NAECI Categorised Rates 2025) Grade 5
* Basic: £22.44/hr
* OT1: £31.42/hr
* OT2: £40.39/hr
Working Hours
* Monday–Thursday: 9.5 hrs/day
* Friday: 6 hrs
* Overtime available
