Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Summary
The Lung Cancer CNS at Kingston and Richmond NHS Trust will work effectively as an autonomous practitioner, and as a core member of the lung Multi‑disciplinary team (MDT), providing specialist advice and support to patients and their families and acting as a key worker at all stages of the lung cancer pathway.
Main Duties
* Influence patient care through clinical practice, clinical management, leadership, education, research, audit and professional activities for all disciplines relating to lung cancers working with the respiratory directorate.
* Provide specialist help, advice and support to patients, their families and carers and act as an advocate by providing information which leads to informing patient choice.
* Communicate with MDT members, GP's and palliative care services.
* Play a key role in the continual development, implementation and evaluation of the lung cancer service locally to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi‑professional framework.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse (RGN) – essential.
* Experience of working in an NHS organisation – essential.
* Work well in a Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) – essential.
* Oncology experience – essential.
* Evidence of working well in a team – essential.
Desirable
* Advanced communication skills.
* Oncology qualification.
* Flexibility to work across all services.
* Ability to support patients on the cancer pathway.
* NMC registered.
