Popular restaurant near Newquay are looking for a new Head Chef to take the reins of their vibrant venue.
My client are looking for a hands-on and commercially minded Head Chef to lead and inspire the kitchen brigade, while raising standards and creating a culture of quality, accountability, and pride.
This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for food operations, including:
* Developing and delivering menus that are seasonal, local, and on-brand
* Leading and motivating the team to maintain high standards of food quality and service
* Driving food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance
* Managing kitchen financials – GP, stock, labour, and wastage
* Training, mentoring, and developing the kitchen team
* Working closely with the General Manager and senior team to achieve operational goals
About You
* You’ll be an experienced, professional Head Chef (or a strong Sous looking to step up) with a proven track record in high-volume, quality-focused kitchens.
You’ll need:
* A passion for fresh, locally sourced food and a good understanding of seasonal menu planning
* Strong leadership skills and a calm, positive presence in the kitchen
* Sound understanding of kitchen financials and systems (rotas, stock, compliance documentation)
* A team-first attitude, with a genuine commitment to mentoring others
* Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
* A desire to be part of the journey in restoring and enhancing our kitchen’s reputation
