Porters – Hereford County Hospital2 Positions Available37.5 hours per weekPay: £12.91 per hourHereford County HospitalAre you reliable, compassionate and ready to play a vital role in supporting patient care across the hospital?We're looking for two dedicated Porters to join our team at Hereford County Hospital, ensuring patients, equipment and essential materials arere moved safely, efficiently and with dignity.About the RoleAs a Porter, you'll beat the heart of hospital operations, providing a safe and responsive service across all clinical areas.Every day is different, and your work will directly supportt patient experience, clinical teams and the smooth running of the hospital.Your responsibilities will include:Safely transporting patients between wards, departments and theatre's (via walking, wheelchair, trolley or bed)Assisting with emergency transfers, including supporting A&E and helicopter arrivalsConveying blood specimens, patient notes, x‑rays and essential items across the siteRemoving deceased patients to the mortuary with dignity and professionalismReplacing and transporting medical gas cylinders and restocking oxygen banksSupporting pharmacy distribution and equipment movementHandling clinical and non‑clinical waste and laundryResponding to emergency calls including resus, fire, security and child abduction alertsManaging urgent and non‑urgent goods inwards, ensuring accurate recordsCarrying out additional duties as required to support hospital operationsWhat We're Looking ForEssential:Manual Handling trainingEmpathy and a caring approach with patients and visitorsAbility to follow instructions and work safelyEffective communication and customer care skillsHigh standards of personal hygieneAbility to remain calm in stressful situationsBasic literacy skillsDesirable:Ability to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible, positive work ethicWhat we offer:Working at Sodexo isn't just a job — it's a chance to make a difference every day.
