Service Engineer
Location: Willenhall (Approx. 50% site-based, 50% overseas travel)
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £38,000 to £43,000 per annum
Overview:
We’re supporting a UK-based engineering organisation at the forefront of hazardous materials management in their search for a Service Engineer. The role is a blend of workshop and international field work, offering the opportunity to work directly on cutting-edge systems used in critical global sectors.
This is an exciting and varied opportunity for a mechanically and electrically skilled engineer who enjoys customer-facing roles, global travel, and hands-on work with advanced equipment.
The Role:
This is a key position combining hands-on engineering with strong client interaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, maintaining, and supporting highly specialised systems used in high-integrity environments such as defence, nuclear, and energy.
Split of Work:
⦁ ~50% workshop-based (West Midlands)
⦁ ~50% on-site support with international travel
Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Commission, service and support bespoke systems on-site and in-house
⦁ Deliver professional, effective support to global clients
⦁ Act as a technical representative and trusted point of contact for customers
⦁ Gather insights from the field and feed them back to engineering teams
⦁ Contribute to continuous improvement and documentation processes
⦁ Support wider in-house operations and training in machining processes
Candidate Profile:
⦁ Solid mechanical and electrical engineering background
⦁ Ideally experienced with pneumatics (or willing to learn)
⦁ Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles
⦁ Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure
⦁ Flexible for travel, including short-notice international assignments
⦁ Full UK driving licence and valid passport required
⦁ UK Citizenship is essential due to nature of work
