Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

About the Role
We are recruiting a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor for a specialist construction subcontractor active in drylining, façade systems, structural framing and other external building envelope works. The successful candidate will join the commercial team to support cost management across a pipeline of internal and external projects.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation.
2.
Manage commercial aspects from tender stage through to final account.
3.
Measure and value work in accordance with drawings and specifications.
4.
Produce interim valuations and applications for payment.
5.
Monitor project costs and financial performance.
6.
Analyse and prepare contractual variations and change control.
7.
Assist with procurement of subcontractor packages and materials.
8.
Forecast cash flow and assist with cost plans.
9.
Maintain accurate project commercial records.
10.
Liaise with project managers, site teams, suppliers and clients.
11.
Support timely submission of valuations and cost reports.
12.
Assist with negotiation of subcontractor and supplier payments.
13.
Contribute to commercial risk identification and mitigation.
14.
Support compliance with contract requirements and procedures.
15.
Attend contract meetings as required.
16.
Analyse cost reports and track profitability.
17.
Assist with final accounts and project close-out commercially.
18.
Provide input into value engineering and cost saving opportunities.
19.
Work collaboratively with estimating and procurement teams.
20.
Prepare monthly cost reports and CVRs.
21.
Ensure alignment between delivery and commercial objectives.
22.
Support director and senior commercial staff on ad hoc duties.
23.
Maintain commercial data and contract documentation.
24.
Monitor subcontractor performance against budget.
25.
Contribute to continuous commercial process improvements.
26.
Support dispute resolution relating to cost or contract.
27.
Ensure commercial practices align with company policies.
28.
Provide effective communication across project stakeholders.
29.
Represent the commercial team in site cost reviews.
30.
Assist with pricing of scope changes and approvals.
Requirements
• Minimum 1 year’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, preferably with exposure to drylining, façades, SFS or external finishing systems.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Good understanding of cost planning, valuations and contract administration.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with commercial software is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness and numerical capability.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to sites as required.
