The role
As a Service Life Extension Programme Centre Engineer, you will maintain, inspect, service and repair plant, HGV and mechanical handling assets as part of a long-term MOD support contract.
Youll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out inspection work and ensure equipment is maintained in line with company standards, LOLER and PUWER legislation.
Key responsibilities
Service, inspect, maintain and repair plant, HGV and MHE equipment
Complete Service Life Extension Programme tasks to required standards
Diagnose faults and identify safe, effective repair solutions
Carry out work in line with LOLER, PUWER and company procedures
Complete job cards, service records and maintenance documentation accurately
Identify additional work, defects or damage and report as required
Maintain spares, attachments, ancillaries and technical documentation
Support safe systems of work and SHEQ procedures
Mentor MOD maintainers and users where appropriate
Support team KPIs, occasional out-of-hours duties and weekend work when required
What were looking for
Were looking for a practical, hands-on engineer with experience maintaining construction plant, HGVs, forklifts, MHE, agricultural machinery, military vehicles or heavy mechanical equipment .
Youll need
City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering
Experience maintaining plant, HGV, MHE, forklifts or similar equipment
Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Working knowledge of Health & Safety, LOLER and PUWER
Full UK driving licence
Ability to manage periods of busy workload
No restrictions to gaining MOD security clearance
Valid passport due to potential occasional overseas travel
