Founded in 1980 by a group of parents and doctors, this organisation is a lifeline for the families of more than 100 children and young people who are regularly cared for here, whether it be after school for a few hours, a weekend or even a couple of weeks stay. Your primary responsibilities will be supporting children and young people with variety of needs, from learning difficulties to complex medical needs. You will be providing all aspects of personal care, administer medication, support them on trips in the community, think of fun and engaging activity and promote their independence. While providing positive activities in the community, you will develop strategies and techniques to help to address those behaviours and improve their quality of life and those around them. This will involve working in partnership with parents and other professionals. This role will suit a patient, caring and friendly care worker who has a genuine interest in assisting children and young adults with additional needs and make a positive difference in their life.
