Start Date: May 2025 Job Role: Primary School Teaching Assistant Location: Coventry, England Job Type: Temporary/Part Time Recruiter: Colmore Education Colmore Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a warm, inclusive primary school in Coventry that is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the school's SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. You will assist both in class and in small group or 1:1 setting. Key Responsibilities: * Supporting pupils with SEND to access the curriculum and meet individual targets * Adapting learning activities to suit varied learning styles and abilities * Building positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and independence * Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists What We’re Looking For: * Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND (preferred) * A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to support learning and behaviour * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * A genuine desire to help children overcome barriers to learning * Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) are a bonus but not essential * Valid DBS on the Update Service The School Offers: * A nurturing and inclusive environment with a strong focus on SEND provision * Ongoing professional development and training * A supportive team of staff and leadership * A chance to make a long-lasting impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing Interested?
