A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Purchasing department with the appointment of a Commodity Buyer.
As Commodity Buyer, you will be responsible and accountable for the monitoring and management of the supplier base’s performance, as defined by the category strategy for both Direct and Indirect commodities.
Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the Commodity Buyer will be responsible for:
* Monitoring and reporting the performance of the suppliers against the Group and Plant defined strategies.
* Training of the supply base in key processes and policies.
* Supporting the delivery of Group and Plant strategies through the rigorous post-award management of contract and supplier performance.
* Onboarding new suppliers.
* RFQ generation, management, analytics culminating is submission of a Purchasing Recommendation for approval.
* Monitors all Procurement strategies performances to ensure that the maximised value is achieved for the business
* Builds in-depth knowledge of the supply market within their category sector
* Monitors and supports the execution of all strategies, including supporting negotiation with suppliers, evaluating on-going contract and supplier performance and measuring contract compliance
* Support and implementation of sourcing of group-wide deals for the overall category strategy, including supporting any other category sourcing strategies
* Monitoring and reporting on strategic suppliers within the category
* Monitor and report the results from strategies to incentivise and engage strategic suppliers and then measure and incentivise their performance
* Monitor supplier and customer governance, fed by relevant data and attended by empowered representatives of all organisations
* Monitor and support the implementation, performance and compliance to group-wide deals in support of the category strategy
* Be a high performing category team member who is aligned to category strategy and value delivery
* Deliver and exceed targets set through clear objectives that link to the overall business and functional strategy
Ideally, you will be MCIP's qualified or working towards MCIP's and proven experience in purchasing function within the manufacturing industry.
