Responsibilities:
Engineering
1. Work with Principal Platform Engineer to help drive direction of platform and automation capabilities.
2. Work with a diverse team on some of Elanco’s most exciting engineering initiatives helping drive secure, reliable, and efficient using the latest technology.
3. Look for continuous improvement opportunities in our core ecosystem identifying new ways to enhance application team and developer experience.
4. Bring your expertise into a team of talented engineers and continually help shape where the team can help to better enable our secure, reliable, efficient vision.
5. Follow the value mentality with opportunity to work across the engineering team helping to ‘walk in the shoes’ of application teams as well as operational engineering teams.
6. Provide coaching and mentoring to less senior team members to cultivate development and continuous growth within the team.
Daily / Monthly Responsibilities
7. Build and run responsibilities for Platform Engineering team ensuring robust support folding into standard incident processes as the products mature.
8. Hands on code, build, govern and maintain.
9. Working as part of a scrum team, deliver high quality technical deliverables.
10. Designing and building solutions to support the automation of manual IT and business processes.
11. Continually modernise software development processes using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) techniques to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery.
12. Establish strong partnerships with key service integrators (vendors), helping to support the adoption of automation capabilities.
13. Establish a strong partnership with our application health program and Information Security, helping to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
14. Coach and mentor junior engineers, members of our student program to help build a strong connected organisation.
15. Supporting application teams, internal and external, helping to resolve barriers related to building, deployment, and utilisation of engineering products.
16. Providing sound solutions for complex issues.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
17. Proven Experience in Delivering Software Products
18. Proven experience in programming languages such as Typescript, along with a strong background in either Python/Typescript.
19. Willingness to learn, AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch (prior in-depth experience is not necessary).
20. A passion for AI and the eagerness to stay current with the latest AI research, trends, and technologies.
21. Operational experience ensuring internal products are well-maintained, supported, and iterated upon.
22. Experience working within a DevOps team and familiarity with modern software development practices, including CI/CD, TDD, and SDLC.
23. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members to encourage the adoption of new software versions or products.
24. Familiarity with working within an agile team.
25. Experience defining and implementing large-scale, transformative digital solutions.
26. Demonstrated influence and communication skills across all levels of IT and third parties.
27. Strong organizational and communications skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex technical topics, that resulted in a definitive direction.
28. Proven Experience in Delivering Software Products
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
29. Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
30. Experience deploying AI solutions in real-world applications.
31. Familiarity with cloud platforms (, Azure, Google Cloud) and AI tools.
32. Hands-on technical experience with core technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.
33. Knowledge of cloud cognitive services (, Azure Cloud Vision, Google Vision AI).
34. Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols/patterns.
35. Experience supporting digital platforms, including integrations, release management, regression testing, integrations, and data obfuscation.
