Role Overview
The Asset and Network Planner is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and optimisation of asset maintenance and network operations. You will ensure that assets and network infrastructure are managed efficiently to maximise performance, reliability, and lifespan while aligning with business objectives and compliance requirements. This role combines technical expertise with strong organisational skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and deliver optimal asset and network planning outcomes.
The role
* Develop, implement, and manage asset and network maintenance and replacement plans that are fully aligned with contractual requirements; ensure all maintenance activities are set up, scheduled, and completed using D365 (or a CMMS).
* Optimise Field service engineer schedule to be as efficient as possible.
* Schedule resources for commissioning and onboarding works as required, ensuring seamless integration with ongoing operations.
* Oversee asset lifecycle planning to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime and costs.
* Coordinate and prioritise maintenance schedules, capital projects, and network upgrades to optimise resource use and minimise disruption.
* Collaborate with engineering, network maintenance, Field service, Customer services, finance, and commercial teams to ensure integrated planning and decision-making.
* Analyse asset performance data and network condition reports to inform planning strategies and investment decisions.
* Manage asset and network risk assessments and mitigation plans.
* Lead the preparation of detailed work schedules, resource allocation plans, and budgets for asset and network activities.
* Monitor compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards related to asset and network management.
* Utilise asset management software and planning tools to track, report, and optimise asset and network operations.
* Provide guidance to planning and operations teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
* Prepare and present regular reports on asset and network performance, maintenance outcomes, and future planning initiatives to senior management.
* Support business continuity and emergency response planning related to network assets.
* Adhere to company policies, including safety, data protection, and quality management standards compliant with ISO certifications.
You'll bring
* Proven experience in asset management, network planning, or maintenance management within a relevant industry (e.g., utilities, energy, infrastructure).
* Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management, network operations, and maintenance planning.
* Excellent organisational, project management, and leadership skills.
* Proficiency with asset management and planning software (e.g., D365, I-auditor or similar).
* Ability to analyse complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
* Effective communication skills, able to collaborate with technical teams and senior stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
* Experience managing budgets and resources efficiently.
Skills and Abilities
* Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
* Commercially astute and data-driven decision-maker.
* Comfortable managing ambiguity and setting direction.
Qualifications and Certifications
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Asset Management, Project Management, or related discipline preferred.
* Relevant certifications in asset management (e.g., IAM Certificate), project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) or related fields are advantageous.
