The hourly rate for this role is £11.23 and will involve travelling to stores around the region. Travel expenses are covered by Boots.
A full driving licence and access to a car will be necessary in this role due to the travelling. Only Phlebotomists with at least 12 months practical experience will be considered.
Relief Phlebotomist

Your role as a Phlebotomist will be to greet volunteers, verify their details and take health measurements and venous blood samples (phlebotomy) whilst maintaining the integrity of all participant information and blood samples. You will also work with other store-based phlebotomists conducting peer-to-peer observations and providing feedback.
This is not a store-based role, the successful candidate will work across multiple stores, travelling to provide appointments. There may be occasions where you are requested to change where you are due to work at short notice so flexibility is required.
Your main duties will include:
1. Greeting participants and verifying their details
2. Explaining the phlebotomy procedure to participants
3. Clerical duties such as management of appointment booking process for the phlebotomy service
4. Taking various participants measurements, such as height, weight and waist circumference
5. Taking and maintaining venous blood samples from participants according to UK guidelines
6. Maintaining quality of service delivery by following Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to health and safety standards
7. Ensuring samples are prepared for delivery to the correct laboratory within required timescales
8. Ordering and maintaining adequate stock of requisite materials needed to deliver service
9. Communicating with the in-store Pharmacist and the pharmacy team to assure safe and appropriate provision of the service
