Your new role
We are looking for a dedicated EYFS teacher to cover maternity leave at a weing two-form entry primary school in Coventry. This full-time role begins in the spring term and continues until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the Reception class, including planning, teaching, and assessment, while working alongside a supportive and collaborative early years team.In this role, you will:
1. Design creative, play-based learning experiences that spark curiosity and joy
2. Establish a warm, inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and motivated
3. Deliver the EYFS framework with flexibility to meet a wide range of developmental needs
4. Promote positive routines and behaviour that encourage independence and respect
5. Work closely with colleagues and parents to support each child’s progress
6. Celebrate milestones and nurture every child’s social, emotional, and academic growth
What you'll need to succeed
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with recent EYFS experience, ideally in Reception
8. Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and effective planning/assessment strategies
9. A caring, creative teaching style with excellent classroom management skills
10. Clearmunication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
11. Availability to start in January and remain until the end of the academic year
